First Hair Cut

Sheesh! I'm getting very behind on this blog.  I partly blame Daddy P because he likes to edit photos before I post them.  I'm going to give you a sneak peak at the unedited hair cut photos anyway.  Warning:  this post is a photobomb of cuteness.

After having Elliott's Easter pictures taken, it became evident that my little angel needed his hair cut.  Though I was trying to wait for his one year birthday to cut his hair, I was receiving enough nagging from some unnamed people, that I decided to go ahead and take the plunge.

We had heard from a friend that there was a place called Snip-Its about and hour south in Cicero, NY.  It was a fantastic place for a first haircut.  If you live near a location, I highly recommend it.

As expected, the cut had it's ups and downs.  He didn't mind the big clipper, but the scissors and the little clipper elicited some tears.  Here are some of the one million photos that we took of the experience:

Easter Weekend

This past weekend, my family (sans Aunt Al) came up for Easter.  We had oodles of fun and Aunt Andi captured some great pictures (because the rest of of never take any).

On Friday, after stopping at the outlets, I met them at one of my favorite North Country (really Finger Lakes) spots, Three Brothers Winery in Hector, NY.  We had lots of fun tasting ALL the yummy wines and Poppy one of us got a little tipsy.

On Saturday, we took a scenic driving tour of the North Country since Uncle Adam has never been here.  Our first stop was at Westcott State Park where we hopped out to check out the beach of Lake Ontario.

Next, we headed to Sackets Harbor for lunch at Goodfellos.  Aunt Andi had a ball holding Elliott at lunch.  It should also be noted that the sweater he is wearing is one of Jeff's from babyhood.  Everyone was quite impressed that Grandma Becky kept it so pristine for all of these years.  Uncle Adam even had to check the label because he thought I was fibbing.

After our delicious lunch, we jetted up to Cape Vincent to see the Tibbetts Point Lighthouse.  It was a pretty day, but SUPER cold and WINDY.  Elliott loved looking out into the water!

Next, we headed to Clayton where we enjoyed some of my favorite wine (and some mulled wine) at Coyote Moon and then took another picture in front of the little lighthouse like we did when Elliott was just a few days old!

For our final stop of the day, we headed to Alexandria Bay where we saw lovely views of the Boldt  Castle and where Elliott had the time of his life playing in the playground.

On Easter, we found that the Easter Bunny and Grandma Becky and Grandpa Ken and Emmie and Aunt Al had all brought Easter Baskets for Little Man.  He had lots of fun digging through and finding surprises.

Next, we all dyed eggs.

Then, after a quick swim at the hotel pool, we enjoyed an Easter feast.

The little Ham did too!

Thanks, family, for a fun weekend!  Hope you all had a great Easter too!

A little local fame

Last week, one of the authors of a popular local blog came to our Stroller Strides class to take photos for an article.  Check it out!

Happy Halloween and a PSA

First, Happy Halloween!  We celebrated by having a special Halloween Day at Stoller Strides.  All the kiddos dressed up and looked adorable!

Back Row (left to right): pumpkin, Lollipop kid, Little owlie, cupcake
Bottom Row: princess and Batman

We don't plan on trick-or-treating, but we will be handing out candy, probably with the fog machine.

I was going to carve both of our pumpkins when I got home today, but I came home to doggie sickness all over the dining room floor.  I think it was probably enough mess for one day.  This is where the PSA comes in....

IF YOU HAVE A PET, AND DO NOT HAVE ONE OF THESE THINGS YOU MAY BE A CRAZY PERSON!
I'm not a big fan of spending unnecessary money, but this is a must have.  If you would have seen what I just dealt with, and you didn't have a SpotBot, you may have hurled yourself into moving traffic.  No joke.  You would have lost me today if it weren't for this guy.

Go get one.  You'll thank me next time Fido leaves you a present.  I promise.

Happy Halloween!
